Northeast Pennsylvania is home to The Commonwealth Medical College, covering sixteen counties and three regional campuses headquartered in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport. Each of these campuses is an integral part of the College’s distributive model of medical education to provide students with experiences in diverse clinical settings.
Sports enthusiasts will welcome the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Little League World Series Ballpark and Museum in Williamsport, winter sports with 24 ski and snowboarding resort areas, state and National parks for hiking and numerous rivers and streams for trout and bass fishing or white water rafting.
The North (Scranton) Campus includes Lackawanna, Wyoming, Wayne, Susquehanna, Monroe and Pike counties. This area is rated as one of the 10 fastest growing real estate markets in the country with beautiful historic downtown centers and varied community events – movies and concerts in the park, kid’s fest, church-wide picnics and numerous festivals.
The West (Williamsport) Campus includes Bradford, Tioga, Lycoming and Clinton counties. The Williamsport campus center is a pleasantly uncrowded city with its own Millionaires Row of historical treasures. Breathtaking views can be seen of the Susquehanna River and Bald Eagle Mountain from the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat or Brandon Park.
The South (Wilkes-Barre) Campus includes Luzerne, Carbon, Columbia, Montour, Schuylkill and Sullivan counties. The Wilkes-Barre city center was recently recognized by Governor Rendell for leadership, accomplishments and dedication to providing a better quality of life for the residents of Pennsylvania communities. This historic area has beautiful parks, family activities and a monthly art walk throughout downtown Wilkes-Barre.

In Wilkes-Barre Township you will find the Mohegan Sun Arena which hosts the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins Hockey Team a minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Mohegan Sun Arena also stages various performing artists in concert. In center city Wilkes-Barre you will find the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, which is home for the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and other performers and stage shows.
